Obituary of Danny Ridgeway

Mr. Danny Ridgeway age 56 of Jackson, Tennessee (formerly of) Fyffe, Alabama passed away Sunday, Decemeter 14, 2008 in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 11am - Thursday, December 18, 2008 from the Fyffe Church of God with Burial to follow in Kirk Memorial Gardens with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge. Survivors- (2 sons) Ryan "Ry" Danile and Cody Christopher Ridgeway, (1 daughter) Kara Martha Ridgeway, (parents) Howard "Shine" and Delenda Heard Ridgeway, (brothers) James Rodney Ridgeway and Rickey Lynn Ridgeway, (special friend) Elizabeth Hazelhurst Edwards and many relatives. Danny was a graduate of Fyffe High School and the University of Alabama. He was a All-State Football player at Fyffe High School and Lettered 3 years in Football at Alabama under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, having played on the 1971-1975 SEC Championship Teams, 1973 National Championship Team, He was Academic All-American in 1975, He was Head Coach at Banks High School in Birmingham and was 1978 Coach of the year. He was a member of the Dekalb County Sports Hall of Fame. Danny was owner of Catfish Cabin Restaurant in Jackson, Tenn. and was a member of the First Methodist Church in Jackson. In Lieu of Flowers make Donations to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, Duke University.
