Mr. James R. Walker age 84 of Higdon, Alabama passed away Monday February 16, 2009 in the Veterans Hospital - Nashville.Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday, February 19, 2009 from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel.Burial will follow in the Concord Cemetery in Henagar.The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday.Survivors include (Daughter) Sallie & Arcie Holton; (Son) James "Spud" Walker; (Grandchildren) Stoney Price, Rodney Walker, & Troy Walker.Mr. Walker was a veteran of WWII and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was a retired radio announcer from WJOC radio station in Chattanooga. He was an extreme Alabama Football fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ellen Walker.
