Obituary of Jean Cathadell Woodall
Jean Cathadell Wilbanks Woodall went to be with our Lord on Jan. 5, 2018. She passed away in her residence surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Ray E. Woodall, with whom she shared forty-eight years of marriage. She devoted her life to being a wife and mother of one son, Timothy Ray Woodall.
Born in Macedonia, AL, on May 16, 1943, she was the daughter of William “Orbie” Wilbanks and Lula Galloway Wilbanks. As a young woman, Jean graduated from Sylvania High School and worked at Maples Industries. After being married a few years, as soon as she found out that she was expecting a child, she never returned to work, but spent the rest of her life making a loving home for her husband and son. Her favorite days would include crafting something beautiful or watching Tim play sports. As the years went by, she gained a daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. These grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Lacinda Woodall, two grandsons, Avery and Tawson Woodall, and a granddaughter, Lauren Woodall, all of the Skyline Community. She has one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Doyle Hall of Fyffe, AL, and one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Syble Wilbanks, of Scottsboro, AL, as well as several nieces and nephews. She had several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews on the Woodall side that she considered her own.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Woodall, her parents, Orbie and Lula Wilbanks, and a baby brother, Orbie Levoid Wilbanks.
The funeral service will be held at 1pm Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Skyline Church of God. Visitation at the church will begin at 11am until the time of service. Burial to follow at Prince Cemetery on County Road 138 near her home.
