Obituary of Sarah Belle Sams

Mrs. Sarah Belle Sams age 87, of Piedmont formerly of this area passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at her home. Funeral services are set for 2pm Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Bros. John Maddox and Shane Swafford officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery at McVille. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Denni Peek Wilson (Eric) and Brandi Sams Hallcox (Chad); great-grandchildren, Melissa Peek, Luke Peek, Jericho Hallcox, and Charlie Hallcox; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Peggy Maddox; daughter-in-law, Sandra (Blaine) Decker; sisters, Edith Ashley and Nancy England; brother, Lemuel Haney; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Sams; sons, Charlie Sams and David Sams; grandson, David Lee Sams; parents, William Frank and Rosie Mae McCain Haney; brothers, William Frank Haney, Jr., Osborn Darius “Friskey” Haney, and Edward Jackson “Jack” Haney; sisters, Willie Maudie Haney Wylie, Ruby Helen Haney McDowell, Lois Haney, and Dicie Artee Haney Patterson.

Mrs. Sams was a member of Grace Point Church of God and a former member of Crossville Church of God.
