Obituary of Suzanne Kathrynn Shelton

Mrs. Suzanne Kathrynn Shelton, age 77 of Fort Payne, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Cremation services entrusted to W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. A mother, a grandmother, an aunt and a great-grandmother to many, but also a woman full of wisdom, of strength and of love to all who knew her. She was educated to be a teacher in her early years and went on to influence many young hearts and minds to chase their dreams and live their passion. Her own passions in life were boundless as evidenced by the joyful memories of her love for painting, watching hummingbirds, caring for her dogs, travels to the mountains and the beach, music, gardening and most importantly her grand and great-grandchildren. Though she was always known for not being the traditional grandma that would bake pies and cookies, she is remembered for the countless tidbits of love and wisdom that she left with everyone she met. Though she never had a chance to fulfill her own dream travels while on this earth, her love of taking care of others always brought her joy and happiness. Today, we remember Suzanne Kathrynn Shelton with the words of this poem that beautifully illustrate her endless spirit to all she loved and we take comfort in knowing that she is walking hand in hand in heaven with her mother, Effie L. Chamberlin.
