Lloyd John Banowetz October 14, 1951 ~ December 10, 2021 (age 70) Obituary Lloyd John Banowetz, 70, of Valley Head, Alabama, died at home on Friday morning, December 10, 2021, with family and friends by his side. Lloyd was born October 14, 1951, to Marcella (Sally) Kilburg and Paul Banowetz in Maquoketa, Iowa, as the fourth of what would become 15 children. Fourteen siblings to Lloyd include, Judy (Gene/Ray) Loussaert, Alice (Greg) Banowetz Hood, “Sis” Delores (Darwin) Franzen, Steve (Ruth) Banowetz, Allan Banowetz, Mary (Jeff) Kloewer, Marvin (Nancy) Banowetz, “Dick” Richard (Dee Dee) Banowetz, Deb (Dennis) Assenmacher, Annette (Timothy) Love, Leon (Molly) Banowetz, Dean Banowetz, Randy (Stephanie) Banowetz, and “Patti” Patricia Banowetz. After graduating from Northeast in 1969, Lloyd served in the US Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where he married Karry Behrens while on Base on June 17, 1972. Together they had 6 children and 11 grandchildren, including their daughters, Toshia (Mike) Palermo, Toni (John) Diaz, Brodi Banowetz, Brandi (Ryan) Doolittle, and Brittany (Aaron) Miller, their son, Izaak (Nina Johnson) Banowetz, and their grandchildren, Izabella Palermo, Sicily (Quentin) Hawks, Amaya (Jeston) Parker, Aliya Diaz, Demetrius Wonsey, Jaxon Doolittle, Thomas Diaz, Addison Miller, Linkon Doolittle, Kingston Miller, and Mason Doolittle. Additionally, Lloyd cherished all his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents Sally and Paul, his brother Marv, his sister Patti, his grandson Linkon, his brothers-in-law, Gene Loussaert and Jeff Steward, his nephew Joey, and his nephew-in-law Rusty Houser. In addition to spending time with his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Lloyd treasured his study of the Bible, his friends, and his family, always looking forward to the next opportunity to reunite with his siblings. Lloyd also loved his farm and was never found without an active project or newly-purchased piece of used equipment to refurbish. Known as a jokester and topnotch storyteller meant that helping Lloyd on one of his projects included as many entertaining stories and ice cold Old Milwaukees or Busch Lights that you could want. More than his projects, though, Lloyd’s greatest joys came from the visits and conversations he had with his loved ones, including teasing his grandchildren while listening to their shared stories. Lloyd will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family will have memorial services via zoom on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 3 PM CST.
