Obituary of Glenda Roberts Benefield

Mrs. Glenda Roberts Benefield, age 76 passed away on Monday, April 18 at Highlands Medical Center, Scottsboro, Alabama. She was a graduate of Pisgah High School and attended dental hygiene school. She had a career as a dental hygienist for over 35 years. She and her husband owned rental cabins for many years. Glenda was a very hard worker and loved her family. She did everything she could to make life good for them. She was a long time member of New Home Baptist Church and loved her church family, as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Will and Nan Roberts. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Larry Ray Benefield, son, Aaron (Ellen) Benefield, daughter, Angela (Allen) Barber, grandchildren, Cameron Benefield, Ashlyn (Matthew) Galloway, Jodie (James) Barton, Braeden Benefield and great-granddaughter, Grace Galloway, one brother Lonnie (Renae) Roberts and nephew, Bradley Roberts. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 21, from 4:00-7:00 CST. at W. T. Wilson Funeral Chapel, 2226 Main Street Shiloh, Rainsville, AL. The funeral will be on Friday, April 22 at 2:00 at New Home Baptist Church, 3019 County Road 61, Pisgah, Alabama with visitation at the church one hour before the funeral. Dr. David Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in New Home Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to New Home Baptist Church Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 340, Pisgah, AL 35765. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Glenda’s Adult Sunday School Class. W. T. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
