Obituary of Sammy Dale Terrell

Mr. Sammy Dale Terrell age 73, of Ft. Payne passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Funeral services are set for 11am Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023 from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Martin officiating. Burial will be in Mt. View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 9am until 11am Thursday at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy McPherson Terrell; sister-in-law, Lynda Terrell; special grandchildren, Craig McPherson and Cecelia Oyler; nephew, James Terrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verbon Lee "Walt" and Lillie "Maureen" Terrell; and brothers, Danny Terrell and Larry Terrell.
Mr. Terrell was a U.S. Navy Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Corpsman and a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a lifetime member of the N.E. Alabama Marine Corps League Detachment 1404 in Ft. Payne; and a dedicated volunteer of 10 years with Marine Toys for Tots of Dekalb County, AL, His lifelong profession was a truck driver. He also served many years as truck driver for the Alabama Band.
